My top strength per strength finder is “Achiever.” I like to set goals, create check lists and get things done. I am more task oriented than relationship oriented. I like to innovate, problem solve. I am always thinking of the next good thing. I think Human have thrived with this God given drive to improve. I hope I can be all I can be using this strengths that God has given me.
At the same time, I am becoming more aware of the need to surrender. Not to put God in the passenger seat but for me to be in the passenger seat. To let God work through what he started to do and wait on Him. I am learning that this attitude of surrender may be more important than trying to utilize the strengths God has given me and try to make things happen my way.
God’s promise is “all things work together for good to those who love God.” “perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
If life’s primary meaning is to prepare for the blessing God has store for me in the next life, perhaps to learn to surrender is much more valuable than using my strengths. At least for me whose strength is “Achiever,” I need to remind myself of the importance of surrender.
By surrendering, perhaps God will lead me to much more dynamic adventures than what I can dream of !!
