Family Hike Trip

Last summer our family traveled 3000 miles and spent time in 4 different national parks. We visited Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Bryce Canyon, and Zion National parks. We did a lot of hiking. It was fun and healthy 2 weeks trip to the wild west.

The trip had some challenges. At Bryce Canyon during a 12 miles hike, our older daughter started feeling bad and had difficult time walking. We had to help her finish the course and she did. At Zion, while we were hiking “the Narrows,” which is a beautiful hike going up a rocky stream, my water shoes broke and I was virtually walking barefoot in the rocky stream. I felt so miserable!

But through it all, it was so fun! I wonder how many more times we can go on “physical” trips like this as a family as we all proceed in life. At the same time, I am sort of enjoying the feeling of “maturing.” I am feeling the maturity for the first time in 55 years! There is still a lot of life in me and I am ready to test it!

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” 2 Corinthians4:16
